Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to optimize and oversee industrial processes at our Queenstown facility. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and efficiency across design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a chemical or mechanical background with 7+ years in process engineering, familiar with P&IDs, PHAs, and process control integration. On-site engagement in a major manufacturing operation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer and mass transfer is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing industrial processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Design new process systems and modifications to existing ones, ensuring they meet operational and safety requirements.
• Develop and implement process control strategies, including the use of P&IDs and control system integration.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety measures.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth and effective process performance.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide technical training to plant personnel.
• Monitor key process performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational efficiency.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in process engineering.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
