Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will coordinate technicians, plan preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment reliability while safeguarding safety standards.

The role requires a technical degree and at least five years in maintenance supervision, with experience in heavy machinery, hydraulics, and CMMS systems. A proactive leader who can drive uptime and collaborate with production will thrive.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years in a supervisory maintenance role in heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel engines and electrical systems.
Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance and CMMS.

Responsibilities

Supervise maintenance technicians, mechanics, and electricians.
Develop, implement, and manage preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
Oversee corrective maintenance and rapid breakdown resolution.
Conduct regular inspections and proactive repairs.
Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Manage spare parts inventory and requisitions.
Train and mentor maintenance staff.
Maintain maintenance records and equipment history.
Collaborate with production to minimize downtime and optimize schedules.
Participate in selecting and installing new equipment.
