Job summary

Mace IT Services in New Zealand seeks a Senior IT Engineer (L3) to own complex client issues, drive onboarding projects, and shape AI-enabled service delivery. You will mentor peers, lead initiatives, and collaborate with sales to turn client needs into pragmatic technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT support and infrastructure, including at least 3 years at senior or escalation level in an MSP or IT services provider.
• Strong hands-on skills across most technical areas, with expert depth in several.
• PowerShell scripting to automate tasks across Windows, M365 and Azure; RMM scripting (Essential).
• Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint setup/migration, Teams, AvePoint backup (Essential – expert).
• M365 security stack, Intune, Autopilot, Conditional Access, Defender for Business (Essential – expert).
• Identity and AD, Azure AD / Entra ID, hybrid configuration (Essential – expert).
• Migrations and onboarding with minimal downtime (Essential – expert).
• Endpoint security, EDR, firewall config and reviews (Essential).
• DNS/domains, registration and transfers, troubleshooting (Essential).
• Windows Server administration, group policy (Essential).
• Backup and recovery with Veeam/M365 backup (Essential).
• RMM/PSA: alerts, tickets, time and billing (Essential).
• Desktop support, hardware setup, remote support (Essential).

Responsibilities

• Be the last line of escalation and resolve escalated and complex issues across clients' environments.
• Lead new client onboarding projects end to end: discovery, migration plan, cutover and handover.
• Design onboarding with minimal downtime and rollback steps; create repeatable playbooks.
• Join presales meetings to understand client needs and propose practical solutions.
• Contribute to proposals, quotes and solution designs; review vendor options.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead projects when needed; share knowledge with the team.
