• 15+ years in IT engineering or infrastructure
• At least 10 years in project delivery
• Senior or lead engineer and escalation point in managed services or consulting
• Deep hands-on expertise across Microsoft stack and networking
• Proven track record in continuous improvement and automation
• Strong consulting and stakeholder skills
• NZ driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Bonus: senior-level Microsoft/Cisco certs and ITIL knowledge

The Role

This is a senior role supporting our Key customer base. You'll be the technical lead and final point of escalation (L3) for our most important clients. You'll act as their trusted technical consultant, lead complex projects from design through delivery, and drive continuous improvement across our customers' environments and our own engineering practices.

What You'll Be Doing

• Act as the L3 escalation point, owning and resolving complex, high-impact technical issues through root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Serve as a trusted technical consultant to Key clients, advising on roadmaps, risk, modernisation, and best practice.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of cloud and infrastructure projects, including scoping, design, implementation, and handover.
• Drive continuous improvement by spotting recurring issues, improving processes, standards, and automation, and raising service quality.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, lifting capability across the team.
• Work closely with architects, account managers, and delivery teams to shape solutions and bring them to life.
• Produce high-quality documentation, design artefacts, and knowledge base content.
• Stay ahead of the curve, particularly across Microsoft Cloud technologies.

What You Bring

• 15+ years' experience in IT engineering or infrastructure, with at least 10 years in project delivery.
• Proven experience as a senior or lead engineer and escalation point in a managed services or consulting environment.
• Deep hands-on expertise across the Microsoft stack (Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server), Hyper-V, and networking.
• A track record of driving continuous improvement, including security uplift, process, automation (e.g. PowerShell), and service outcomes.
• Strong consulting and stakeholder skills, with the confidence to engage from engineers through to executives.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
• A current NZ driver's licence and a reliable, work-ready vehicle.
• Bonus: MSP experience & Senior-level certifications (e.g. Microsoft Expert, Cisco) and ITIL or project methodology knowledge.
