Job summary

Wellington Free Ambulance is seeking a Senior ICT Systems Administrator to own, stabilize and continually improve our ICT environment. You will lead technical decisions, set standards across infrastructure, cloud and end-user spaces, and act as an escalation point within ICT.

Collaboration with teams will drive solution design and ongoing optimisation. The role emphasizes senior technical expertise, independent judgement, and a commitment to high-quality service across Wellington regions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years ICT experience, with at least 3 years in a systems administration or senior technical role.
• Advanced expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, M365, Exchange, Intune and endpoint management.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience for admin tasks and reporting.
• Knowledge of networking and security tech including switches, firewalls, VPNs and WiFi.
• Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate to streamline business processes.
• IT-related tertiary qualification.
• Microsoft certifications such as M365 administrator/security/modern desktop or Azure Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Own technical ownership and ensure stability and continuous improvement of ICT environment.
• Lead technical decision making and set standards across infrastructure, cloud, and end-user environments.
• Act as technical escalation point within the ICT team and contribute to solution design.
• Support system optimisation and incident/problem management through independent judgement.
