Job summary

Awanui Group is seeking a Systems Engineer - Infrastructure in Christchurch to join the IT Shared Services team. You will install, configure, and maintain OS, applications, servers, and related tech, while delivering reliable ICT services and supporting incidents and changes.

You will monitor systems, contribute to automation and upgrades, participate in change management, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners, with after-hours on-call support as required.

Qualifications

Experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, desktop support, or a similar ICT role.
Hands-on capability with the listed technologies and platforms.
Experience monitoring systems, resolving incidents, documenting solutions, and participating in change management.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain operating systems, applications, computers, servers, phone systems, printers, and related technology, with clear documentation.
Provide day-to-day support, manage requests through the ticketing system, resolve incidents and problems, coordinate with third parties, and complete reviews where applicable.
Monitor performance, assist with upgrades, automate processes where appropriate, and recommend technologies that could improve business effectiveness.
Prepare Requests for Change, participate in CAB meetings, contribute expertise to ICT projects, and work within ICT strategy, policies, and standards.
Build constructive relationships, advise users, work with external partners, and meet quality, privacy, security, and health and safety requirements.
