Job summary

McAlpine Hussmann invites an experienced HVAC Technician to join our Dunedin team. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and a collaborative approach to deliver first-class service to customers.

We value someone who can hit the ground running, communicate effectively, and work well within a team. A pre-employment drug screen and NZ work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience within the HVAC / air conditioning industry.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• IQP registered or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Installation, servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Fault diagnosis and repair of commercial systems.
• Management and coordination of minor HVAC projects, including scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure successful project/service delivery.

About the role:

We are seeking an experiencedand highly motivated HVAC Technician to join our Dunedin team. This position is suited to a skilled professional with extensive technical knowledge, strong leadership capability.

We want someone who can hit the ground running. Someone who is motivated to succeed with great communication skills that build lasting relationships.

The key skills required for this role include:

Installation, servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of HVAC systems

Fault diagnosis and repair of commercial systems

Management and coordination of minor HVAC projects, including scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards

Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians

Liaising with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure successful project/service delivery

You must have:

Extensive experience within the HVAC / air conditioning industry

Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Relevant trade qualifications and certifications, IQP registered or willing to obtain

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
