Job summary

McAlpine Hussmann Limited in Christchurch, NZ, seeks an experienced Refrigeration Service Technician to service, maintain, and install refrigeration systems. You will work in a fast-paced team, providing first-class service and building lasting customer relationships.

The role requires a trade Certificate in Refrigeration/AC, a valid NZ driver’s licence, and strong communication skills. On-site customer interactions and safety compliance are essential for success.

Qualifications

• H&S aware and compliant with NZ safety standards.
• Trade qualification in refrigeration or air conditioning is required.
• Electrical service technician practicing license is preferred.
• Refrigerant handling license is essential.
• Valid clean NZ driver’s licence is required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience dealing with customers on site is desirable.
• 5+ years NZ experience in refrigeration or air conditioning preferred but not essential.
• Supermarket sector experience is a plus.

About the role:

We have a vacancy available in our Christchurch Service branch for a highly motivated and experienced Refrigeration Service Technician. Our refrigeration team are involved with servicing, maintenance, and installation work of various types of refrigeration systems.

We want someone who can hit the ground running. Someone who is an easy-going, forward thinking person who enjoys a fast-paced environment, working as part of a team to deliver first class service to our customers. Someone who is motivated to succeed with great communication skills that build lasting relationships.

The key skills required for this role include:

• Health and Safety focused
• Trade Certificate in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning
• Electrical Service Technician Practicing License
• Refrigerant Handlers License
• Current (clean) Driver's License
• Good communication & customer service skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience dealing with customers on site
• 5 years or more NZ experience in the Refrigeration or Air Conditioning industry (preferred but not essential)
• Supermarket experience (preferred but not essential)
