Job summary

McAlpine Hussmann Limited in Rotorua/Taupo is seeking a Service Technician to join our Refrigeration and Air Conditioning team. The role involves servicing, maintenance and installation work across Rotorua and Taupo with regular travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning required.
• Refrigerant Handlers License must be current.
• Electrical Service Technician Practising License is desirable.
• Current NZ driver's license required.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication skills.
• Minimum of NZ experience in Refrigeration/AC; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience dealing with customers on site is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and installation of refrigeration and AC systems.
• Travel between Rotorua and Taupo regions as part of regular duties.

About the role:

We have a vacancy available in our Rotorua/ Taupo Service branch for a Service Technician. The branch supports customers across both the Rotorua and Taupo regions, and the role involves travel between these areas as part of regular duties. Our Refrigeration / Air Conditioning (AC) staff are involved with servicing, maintenance, and installation work of various types of Refrigeration and AC systems.

We want someone who can hit the ground running. Someone who is an easy-going, forward thinking person who enjoys a fast-paced environment, working as part of a team to deliver first class service to our customers. Someone who is motivated to succeed with great communication skills that build lasting relationships.

The key skills required for this role include:

• Health and Safety focused
• Trade Certificate in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning
• Electrical Service Technician Practising License
• Refrigerant Handlers License
• Current (clean) Driver's License
• Good communication & customer service skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience dealing with customers on site
• 5 years or more NZ experience in the Refrigeration or Air Conditioning industry (preferred but not essential)
• Supermarket experience (preferred but not essential)
