Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Welder Engineer Fabricator for a permanent full-time role in the Queenstown region. You will weld and fabricate a range of steel and aluminium components, interpreting drawings and working both in a sheetmetal workshop and on-site.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of welding/engineering experience, a relevant trade qualification preferred, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. Competitive pay and strong team culture await.

About the Role:

We are offering a permanent full time position 30-40 hours per week to a Metal Welder/Engineer. You will be responsible for delivering high end architecturally designed welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago region.

What you will be doing:

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings
• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials
• Experience in aluminium joinery fabrication, ideally with a relevant trade qualification
• An integral part of the larger team producing quality work and ensuring good workflow to meet deadlines

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in welding and engineering.
• A tertiary qualification in welding or engineering would be preferred
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
• Excellent knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Work un-supervised, motivated and self-dependent
• Review procedures, processes and documentation
• Measure, cut and weld according to specifications, drawings and blueprints
• Maintain a clean and orderly work space
• Perform other related duties as assigned
