Architectural Envelopes is seeking a Welder Engineer Fabricator for our Otago workshop and on-site projects. The role focuses on high-end welding and fabrication of steel, aluminium and sheetmetal to drawings, with responsibilities across cutting, fitting and assembly in a team-driven environment.

Permanent, full-time position offering 30–40 hours per week. Competitive hourly rate of NZD 37–39, with opportunities for growth in a well-established roofing and cladding business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in welding and engineering.
• A tertiary qualification in welding or engineering would be preferred
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
• Excellent knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Work un-supervised, motivated and self-dependent
• Review procedures, processes and documentation
• Measure, cut and weld according to specifications, drawings and blueprints
• Maintain a clean and orderly work space
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsabilités

• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials
• Experience in aluminium joinery fabrication, ideally with a relevant trade qualification

About the Role:

We are offering a permanent full time position 30-40 hours per week to a Metal Welder/Engineer. You will be responsible for delivering high end architecturally designed welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago region.

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings
