Job summary

Cromwell Architectural Envelopes Limited is seeking a Welder Engineer Fabricator to deliver high-end architecturally designed welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago.

You will weld and fabricate a variety of metals, read drawings, and contribute to a collaborative team while maintaining a tidy workspace. The role offers 30-40 hours per week, with excellent training and potential for career growth, at $37-$39/hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in welding and engineering.
• A tertiary qualification in welding or engineering would be preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
• Excellent knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.

Responsibilities

Architectural Envelopes offers distinctive roofing, exterior cladding, and interior finishes. Our products are used in architectural homes, commercial buildings and iconic buildings, designed to last for over 100 years.

About the Role:

We are offering a permanent full time position 30-40 hours per week to a Metal Welder/Engineer. You will be responsible for delivering high end architecturally designed welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago region.

What you will be doing:

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings
• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials
• Experience in aluminium joinery fabrication, ideally with a relevant trade qualification
• An integral part of the larger team producing quality work and ensuring good workflow to meet deadlines

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in welding and engineering.

• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
