Job summary

Māori Hill School in Otago seeks a motivated Welder Engineer Fabricator to deliver high-end welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District.

Weld and fabricate steel and aluminium from drawings, handle, cut and assemble materials, and work as part of a team to meet deadlines with an emphasis on quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in welding and engineering.
• A tertiary qualification in welding or engineering would be preferred
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
• Excellent knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Work un-supervised, motivated and self-dependent
• Review procedures, processes and documentation
• Measure, cut and weld according to specifications, drawings and blueprints
• Maintain a clean and orderly work space
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings
• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials
• Experience in aluminium joinery fabrication, ideally with a relevant trade qualification

About the Role:

We are offering a permanent full time position 30-40 hours per week to a Metal Welder/Engineer. You will be responsible for delivering high end architecturally designed welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago region.
