Job summary

Discover Waitomo, a part of Tourism Holdings Limited, is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor to support café operations at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre. This senior, hands-on role focuses on delivering high-quality service and smooth day-to-day operations.

As Front of House Supervisor, you’ll lead the FOH team, maintain food safety and presentation standards, manage cash and stock, and assist with rostering and staff development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a busy hospitality environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Demonstrable food handling and barista skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Good numeracy, literacy, and PC skills.
• A reliable, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the front of house team in daily operations.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced café environment.
• Maintain high presentation, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
• Support food preparation, counter presentation, and stock rotation.
• Manage POS support, till balancing, and cash reconciliation.
• Assist with ordering, stock control, and end-of-month stocktake processes.
• Support staff training, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow company policies, SOPs, and health and safety requirements.
• Provide support across other Discover Waitomo sites when required.
