Job summary

Oceania Group’s Waterford Village in Hobsonville is seeking an experienced Café Supervisor on a fixed-term basis to lead the café team for 37 hours per week through to early April 2027. You’ll work with the Head Chef to deliver top-notch food, coffee and service for residents, families and visitors.

You’ll oversee day-to-day café operations, support the kitchen, manage stock and cafe records, and mentor staff to maintain high standards and guest experience.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in food service, including supervisory cafe role
• Confident in food preparation and basic cooking when needed
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly approach
• Experience leading and developing a team
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and cafe operations
• Strong organisation and stock management skills
• Barista skills or experience advantageous
• Hospitality qualification or food handling certification beneficial
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Team-first attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the cafe team to deliver a warm, welcoming experience
• Provide excellent service and build relationships with residents, families and visitors
• Collaborate with Head Chef on menus, cabinet offerings, presentation and quality of food
• Assist in basic cooking and food prep when required
• Make great coffee and support day-to-day food and beverage service
• Manage stock levels, ordering and cafe inventory
• Oversee POS and EFTPOS transactions and maintain cafe records
• Support catering, resident functions and special events
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
• Train and support cafe team members to grow their skills
• Help manage costs and look for improvements to cafe experience
