Job summary

Employer Sponsored Jobs is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations across multiple New Zealand venues. You will develop staff, ensure guest satisfaction, and drive profitability with a strong focus on compliance and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hospitality industry experience.
• At least 1.5 years in restaurant management or leadership role.
• Current Manager's Certificate or eligible to obtain one.
• Experience using hospitality POS and staff rostering systems.
• Strong knowledge of foodsafety, health & safety, and responsible service requirements.
• Ability to analyse financial reports and improve operational performance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for hospitality and leading successful teams.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily front-of-house operations.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Supervise, mentor, and support Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and FOH staff.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and manage team performance.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve escalated issues professionally.
• Coordinate restaurant bookings, private functions, and special events.
• Manage ordering, stock control, stock takes, and cash handling.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, liquor licensing, and employment legislation.
• Monitor operational performance, financial reports, and key KPIs.
• Implement strategies to improve service standards, team performance, and profitability.
• Maintain a positive, professional, high-performing workplace culture.
• Work collaboratively with senior management to achieve business objectives.
