Job summary

Alianza is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 6–7 senior engineers in a fully global organisation. The role is people-focused, with delivery ownership and technical leadership across carrier-grade voice products used by service providers worldwide.

You will coach the team, plan delivery, manage backlogs with product, handle critical incidents, and shape the technical direction and roadmap.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering and 3+ years in engineering people leadership.
• Broad technical skills across a complex domain and strong judgement.
• Experience balancing planned delivery with reactive support and prioritization.
• Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration with Product and Tech Leads.
• Telecoms or carrier-grade domain familiarity is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6–7 senior engineers with autonomy.
• Plan and run delivery, manage release cycles, dependencies, and progress.
• Own the backlog with Product Management, balancing project work and defects.
• Own critical support issues to resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Define and influence the technical direction and product roadmap.
