Job summary

HRB in New Zealand seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams building AI-powered data connectivity solutions. You will blend people leadership, technical judgment, and execution to help teams deliver high-quality software quickly while shaping operating practices and technical direction.

You will own delivery, foster a discovery-enabled, AI-assisted development approach, coach engineers, manage capacity, dependencies and risks, and collaborate with Product and Engineering

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise or SaaS environments.
4+ years of engineering management or people leadership.
Experience leading multiple teams and stakeholders.
Proven ownership of execution, delivery, and development workflows.
Experience with cloud platforms and architecture.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop engineering teams with coaching and performance management.
Hire, onboard, and develop engineering talent.
Own execution and delivery across teams with clear priorities and dependencies.
Establish operating rhythms, planning, backlog readiness, and delivery tracking.
Foster AI-assisted development practices and early discovery collaboration with Product.
Ensure production reliability via on-call, SLOs, and postmortems.
