Job summary
Lightspeed Commerce is seeking a Senior Software Development Manager in Auckland to lead multiple engineering teams, develop managers and engineers, and enable high performance and reliable delivery. You will partner with Product, Design and Engineering leadership to align roadmaps and drive improvements.
The ideal candidate brings strong people leadership, deep technical delivery experience, and sound judgement on when to lead or step back.
Qualifications
- Strong people leadership with proven track record of building high-performing teams.
- Deep technical delivery experience across complex software or SaaS products.
- Experience delivering multi-team initiatives with strong architectural judgement.
- Ability to provide clear feedback and help others grow.
- Comfort in evolving priorities, teams and technology with good stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead Engineers directly and through managers across multiple teams.
- Coach and develop leaders within the engineering organization.
- Align strategy, roadmaps and delivery with Product and Design.
- Remove blockers and manage risk to ensure reliable execution.
- Engage in system design and code reviews; contribute hands-on when useful.
- Drive engineering quality, reliability and continuous delivery.
