Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Employment Lawyer to join a fully remote legal practice serving South Africa from the Queenstown region. You will advise, negotiate, and lead complex disputes, with a focus on compliance and advisory work across labour legislation.

The ideal candidate is an admitted attorney with 10+ years' experience, strong advocacy and drafting skills, and the ability to oversee remote matters, mentor juniors, and contribute to national leadership in

Qualifications

  • Admitted Attorney with at least 10 years of dedicated experience in employment law.
  • Proven track record in handling complex labour disputes and negotiations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, BCEA, and other relevant legislation.
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload and provide strategic counsel remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on all aspects of employment law, including contracts, policies, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Represent employers and employees in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation.
  • Develop and implement compliance strategies for workplace legislation.
  • Conduct internal investigations and advise on grievance procedures.
  • Provide training to management and staff on employment law best practices.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Employment Lawyer to join their esteemed, fully remote legal practice, serving clients across South Africa from a base supporting the Queenstown region. This senior role requires deep expertise in all aspects of South African employment law, including labour disputes, compliance, and advisory work. You will be responsible for guiding clients through complex employment challenges, representing them in various forums, and developing proactive strategies to manage workforce relations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional negotiation skills and a commitment to delivering pragmatic, effective legal solutions within a remote-first operational model, ensuring clients receive top-tier advice irrespective of their location, and contributing to the firm's leadership in employment law services nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
