Job summary

Auror Subject Recognition (ASR) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build a real-time facial recognition platform spanning edge devices and the cloud. You will work with modern .NET/C#, focusing on performance, memory optimization, and reliable delivery.

This hands-on role tackles complex challenges on resource-constrained hardware, implements OTA updates, and collaborates with product/design to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building production software in C#, with performance/memory optimisation.
• Strong Docker and containerisation experience, ideally deploying on edge devices.
• Linux internals on edge devices and resource-constrained environments.
• Experience integrating computer vision or ML inference systems is valuable.
• Understanding of offline-first or connectivity-tolerant systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve high-performance software for Auror’s real-time subject recognition platform.
• Take ownership of complex problems from idea through production, balancing scaling and reliability.
• Address performance and reliability in resource-constrained environments.
• Build and optimise .NET/C# applications with memory, GC, throughput, and latency in mind.
• Develop containerised workloads on Linux-based edge devices across ARM64/AMD64.
• Integrate third-party libraries, native components, and hardware drivers.
• Design systems that handle intermittent connectivity and recover gracefully.
• Contribute to deployment and update mechanisms for a fleet of devices.
