Job summary

Snapper Services Limited in Wellington, NZ seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead data architecture at scale and mentor a growing team. You will drive end-to-end data warehouse builds, evaluate platforms (Redshift, Snowflake, ClickHouse) and design scalable pipelines using Python/PySpark, AWS data services, and modern orchestration tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale data warehouses and migrations/builds.
• Proven data modelling, storage, partitioning and efficient SQL queries.
• Strong ETL/ELT pipeline design and data quality practices.
• Hands-on AWS data services experience (Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with data transformation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation of data model/warehouse platform (Redshift/Snowflake/ClickHouse).
• Architect and lead end-to-end data warehouse builds or migrations.
• Design scalable pipelines using Python/PySpark.
• Apply IaC (Terraform) and Git-based CI/CD to data platform.
• Collaborate with product/business to translate requirements into architecture decisions.
