Job summary

Pinnacles Civil is a New Zealand consultancy delivering civil engineering, transportation and infrastructure solutions across the country. We are looking for a senior, hands-on Civil Engineer to lead transportation and civil infrastructure projects from concept to completion.

You will manage multiple stakeholders, provide technical leadership, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Road maintenance experience is highly regarded and valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in civil engineering or project management within a consultancy.
• Civil engineering qualification; CPEng accreditation is a bonus.
• Experience delivering transportation, roading, land development or three waters projects.
• Previous involvement in road maintenance projects.
• Proven experience managing projects from inception through to completion.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients, contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver transportation and civil engineering design projects.
• Manage projects from planning through to completion, including programmes, contracts and client relationships.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while supporting future business opportunities.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers across the business.
• Ensure quality outcomes while maintaining health and safety.

About the role

This is a senior, hands‑on position where you'll lead the delivery of transportation and civil infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.

Coming from a consultancy background, you'll be comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, providing technical leadership and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard. Experience with road maintenance projects will be highly regarded, as this forms an important part of our workload.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering transportation and civil engineering design projects.


• Managing projects from planning through to completion, including programmes, contracts and client relationships.


• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients while supporting future business opportunities.


• Mentoring and developing junior engineers across the business.


• Ensuring quality outcomes while maintaining a strong commitment to health and safety.

About You

You're an experienced engineering professional who enjoys building strong client relationships just as much as delivering quality technical outcomes. You thrive in a consultancy environment, understand the importance of collaboration, and take pride in delivering practical solutions for your clients.

You will ideally bring

• 8 or more years experience in civil engineering or project management within a consultancy environment.


• A Civil Engineering qualification —CPEng accreditation is a definite bonus.


• Experience delivering transportation, roading, land development or three waters projects.


• Previous involvement in road maintenance projects.


• Proven experience managing projects from inception through to completion.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently engage clients, contractors and internal teams.
