Job summary

Office of the Ombudsman is seeking a Senior Engineer - Infrastructure & Network to own and advance our technology platform. You will lead the move of Wellington and Auckland data centres to Microsoft Azure, establish an Azure Landing Zone, and set up an Azure DevOps environment for IaC and release management.

You will collaborate with security and IT teams to apply NZISM-aligned controls, manage external providers, and coach the in-house team as we build stronger internal capability.

Qualifications

• Cloud infrastructure: Build, secure and optimise Azure networks and identity.
• Data centre migration experience including LAN/WAN/VPN connectivity.
• Azure DevOps for infrastructure-as-code and release management.
• ITIL knowledge and vendor service management.
• Security benchmarks and network principles (CIS).

Responsibilities

• Lead the move of data centres to Microsoft Azure and establish the landing zone.
• Design and implement Azure-based networking and identity solutions.
• Coach the wider DAT team and manage external service providers to SLAs.
• Ensure cost, capacity, backup and DR are managed and tested.
