Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to ensure reliable, secure IT infrastructure across Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud, server and network environments. The role covers day‑to‑day operations and key Digital Solutions initiatives, with DR planning and continuous improvement as core focus.

You will work in a collaborative IT team, manage patches and upgrades, document procedures, and support vendor relationships while maintaining cybersecurity standards across our NZ operations.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and operations.
• Experience with ITIL and service management platforms.
• Certifications such as CCNA, Azure, or VMware are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud, server, and network environments.
• Provide Level 2 infrastructure support, troubleshooting and escalating priority issues as needed.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and respond to alerts, faults, and service disruptions.
• Manage patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
• Support technology projects and the Digital Solutions roadmap.
• Maintain technical documentation, DR plans, and procedures.
• Conduct Disaster Recovery testing and support business continuity readiness.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
• Ensure infrastructure services align with security standards and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve resilience, automation, and efficiency.
