Fluid Recruitment is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer on a part-time basis in New Zealand. You will work closely with an Employment Partner, handling a diverse range of complex matters with significant autonomy and direct client exposure.

Responsibilities include advising on investigations, grievances, collective bargaining, OH&S, and privacy; representing clients in mediation and courts; and mentoring colleagues while developing the practice further.

Competenze

• 8+ years' PQE in employment law.
• Experience across contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Ability to manage matters independently with sound commercial judgement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and client-focused approach.

The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its specialist practice on a part-time basis.

Working closely with an experienced Employment Partner and established team, you will enjoy significant autonomy, direct client exposure and the opportunity to advise on a diverse range of complex employment matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Advise on workplace investigations, disciplinary and performance matters, restructures and personal grievances.
• Provide strategic advice on collective bargaining, workplace health and safety, psychosocial risks and privacy matters.
• Represent clients through mediation, Employment Relations Authority proceedings and Employment Court matters.
• Manage your own files from start to finish, building trusted relationships and delivering practical, commercially focused advice.
• Contribute to the development of the wider practice, including mentoring and supporting other lawyers.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced employment lawyer operating at Associate or Senior Associate level, with the technical expertise and confidence to manage complex matters independently.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Approximately 8+ years' PQE Able to operate at an Associate or Senior Associate level.
• Strong technical expertise across contentious and non-contentious employment law.
• Confidence managing complex matters independently, with sound commercial judgement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy and a client-focused approach to sensitive workplace issues.
• A collaborative mindset, with an interest in mentoring and contributing to a successful team.
• Complementary civil or regulatory litigation experience would also be welcomed.
