Job summary

Westpac New Zealand in Auckland is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to support the platforms underpinning critical reconciliation and operational processes. This role focuses on sustaining stability, resilience and performance of the TLM and RecOps environments.

Collaborate with operations, technology stakeholders and vendors to resolve complex issues, drive improvements and deliver reliable outcomes for customers and the bank.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Application Support, Platform Support or Systems Engineering roles.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• SQL and database experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications across cloud, SaaS and on-premises.
• Strong understanding of incident, problem and change management.
• Experience working in environments with risk management, compliance and operational resilience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for automation, simplification and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the stability, resilience and performance of the Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) and RecOps platforms.
• Resolve complex issues and drive operational excellence in collaboration with stakeholders and vendors.
• Support and optimize enterprise applications across cloud, on‑premises and SaaS environments.
• Promote incident, problem and change management practices to minimize risk and improve service quality.
