Asteron Life New Zealand is hiring a Senior Actuarial Analyst to support capital, valuation and reinsurance activities. You will work with the broader Actuarial team, Finance and business leaders to deliver high-quality analysis, reporting, and insights that inform strategic decisions and strengthen performance.

Qualifications

• Progress towards an actuarial qualification, ideally part-qualified through to Associate level or equivalent experience.
• Experience within life insurance, actuarial, or broader financial services environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Ability to solve complex problems, work through ambiguity and apply structured thinking.
• Exposure to valuation, reporting, capital, solvency or reinsurance activities, with sound actuarial judgement.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support capital and solvency reporting with insights to guide decisions.
• Contribute to management and analysis of reinsurance activities and data accuracy.
• Produce high-quality actuarial valuations, reporting and analysis for regulatory and strategic use.
• Analyse complex datasets and models to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with actuarial, finance and business partners to communicate insights.
• Drive continuous improvement by enhancing reporting processes and controls.
