Job summary

Distinction Mackenzie Country Hotel Twizel is seeking a reliable, professional and guest-focused Porter for the upcoming summer season. This fixed-term role runs from 13 October 2026 to 31 May 2027, offering opportunities to engage with guests and support hotel operations in a beautiful part of the Mackenzie Country.

Key duties include welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, maintaining public areas, and providing information on local attractions.

Qualifications

• Candidates with a genuine passion for guest service and hospitality.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual and well presented.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Willingness to learn about Twizel and the Mackenzie Country, and to help across hotel duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to all guests.
• Assist guests with luggage, arrivals and departures as required.
• Maintain the cleanliness, presentation and appearance of hotel public areas.
• Assist with guest enquiries and provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions and services.
• Ensure guest belongings are handled with care and remain secure.
• Support Front Office and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operation.
• Attend team briefings and meetings as required.
• Report maintenance, operational, security or guest concerns to the Manager on Duty.
