Job description

Sales & Customer Coordinator – Work from Home

Sales & Customer Coordinator – Work from Home

Location: Auckland — work from home, with some days at our office

Work type: Casual to start, with potential to move to part-time and then full-time as we grow. Hours vary with demand

SK Scaffold is growing, and we're looking for a sharp, switched-on person to grow with us. We've built our own online quoting tool, one of the first in the market, and we need someone to get it in front of builders and turn that interest into booked work. It's an open role in a growing business, with real scope to take on more as we do.

You'll be calling builders and construction companies about work they have coming up and quoting the job. Once it's confirmed you'll book it in, organise the crew, invoice it and see it through to completion. It's an even split between selling and getting the detail right.

This isn't an entry-level role, you'll have targets and your own pipeline, and you'll be talking directly with builders and business owners. If you're confident on the phone, quick on your feet, and like turning a maybe into a yes, this could suit you.

About us

About us
SK Scaffold is part of the Space King group, a Kiwi-owned business that's been going for 15 years across portable buildings, scaffolding and site accommodation. SK Scaffold is our Auckland scaffolding company, working across residential and commercial, re-roofs, extensions, new builds, civil and council projects. We also do shrink wrap, edge protection and safety checks, sell scaffolding products through our website, and run a warehouse at Dairy Flat.

We have designed our own online quoting tool builders can use to price a job themselves, and further products in development. One of the first in the market.

What you'll be doing
  • Prospecting and calling builders, contractors and developers to identify upcoming projects.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing and past clients.
  • Preparing and issuing quotes through our online quoting tool, and showing builders how to use it themselves.
  • Following up quotes, handling objections and closing work, including obtaining written acceptance or a purchase order.
  • Maintaining a structured pipeline and reporting on activity, quotes, wins and losses.
  • Booking confirmed jobs, organising the crew, and keeping customers updated.
  • Confirming variations in writing.
  • Invoicing and following up payments.
  • Online product sales, orders and payments.
What you'll need
  • Proven experience in a business-to-business sales role, working to targets and hitting them.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls to businesses that haven't heard from us yet, this is a big part of the role.
  • A track record of following up and converting enquiries, quotes or leads into results.
  • Confident on the phone with business owners and decision-makers, you enjoy the follow-up and the win.
  • Sharp and quick on your feet, you read a customer well and know what to say.
  • Accurate and organised, with sound administration skills.
  • Confident using business systems day-to-day, you've worked with CRM, quoting or accounting software before (we'll train you on ours: Tradify and Xero).
  • Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Auckland based, able to work from home and come in to the office as needed.
Nice to have

Experience selling to builders, contractors or trades, or a background in scaffolding, hire, merchants, tools or building supplies. If you've done the same kind of selling in another industry, we'd still like to hear from you.

Hours

Casual to start, with hours agreed in advance. Hours and rate reviewed as the role develops.

We're a growing business still shaping this role, so it starts casual, hours vary with what's on. For the right person there's genuine scope for it to grow into regular part-time hours, then full-time as we take on more. We're after someone who wants to grow with us.
