Job summary

Edwards & Hardy Roofing in Hamilton is seeking an entry-level salesperson to generate residential sales through door knocking, cold calling and follow-ups. You will be trained and will work with company pricing and processes to close opportunities.

You will receive a competitive base salary plus generous commission opportunities and full training, with hours that may extend beyond normal business times. A NZ driver’s licence and 12 months sales experience are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid New Zealand driver's licence.
• Right to work in New Zealand.
• At least 12 months of sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Door knocking within an assigned residential territory.
• Identify prospective residential customers and generate sales opportunities.
• Follow up prospective and existing customers.
• Explain standard residential products and services using company information.
• Prepare standard quotations using approved pricing and processes.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales information.
• Refer non-standard requirements to senior or technical team.
• Work towards agreed sales targets with support from the Sales Manager.

The role is primarily focused on generating straightforward residential sales opportunities through door knocking, cold calling and following up prospective customers.

What you will be doing

• Door knocking and cold calling within an assigned residential territory
• Identifying prospective residential customers and generating sales opportunities
• Following up prospective and existing customers
• Explaining our standard residential products and services using company‑provided product information
• Preparing standard quotations using approved company pricing and processes
• Maintaining accurate customer and sales information
• Referring technical, commercial or non‑standard customer requirements to senior or technical team members
• Working towards agreed sales targets with the support of the Sales Manager and wider sales team

We are looking for someone who is:

• Comfortable with door knocking and cold calling.

This is a full‑time salaried position, 40 hours of work per week guaranteed. Because the role involves talking to homeowners, these hours will often be worked outside of normal business hours, so flexibility and good time management are important.

• You will be provided with a phone, iPad, uniform, and company car for business purposes.
• In addition, you will be rewarded with a competitive base salary and generous commission opportunities.
• Full training will be provided.

Applicants must hold a valid New Zealand driver's licence and have the right to work in New Zealand with 12 months of sales experience.
