Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island Limited in New Zealand is seeking a talented and experienced person to assist the Checkout Manager and team in delivering the best customer shopping experience possible.

The ideal candidate will have experience supervising staff in a busy retail environment, Lotto training, and a passion for customer service, with strong communication and personal presentation. This is a full-time role with Tuesday–Saturday shifts, including evenings and a closing shift.

Qualifications

• An experienced checkout, retail supervisor, Lotto trained.
• Motivated and driven by helping other team members to exceed their expectations.
• Committed to maintaining high personal presentation standards of self and others.
• A focus on delivering superior customer experience.
• An outstanding communicator who can remain calm and confident in high pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with any customer enquiries and supporting the front-line checkout staff in their role.
• Being a key factor in creating a friendly and helpful environment for customers and staff alike.
• Ensure all sales are conducted efficiently, and that liquor, tobacco and other age restricted product purchases are sold in compliance with law and company policies.
• Actively promoting health and safety and food safety initiatives throughout the department.
