Job summary

ASMITA LAXMI LIMITED is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Rotorua restaurant to ensure smooth daily operations and top-quality service. The role offers a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week with a NZD 28.00–32.00 hourly rate, depending on experience.

You will lead by example, plan staff schedules, handle customer inquiries, train and evaluate staff, and maintain a safe, professional working environment for all team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience or level 4 or higher qualification in relevant field.
• Reliable and punctual.
• A clear and confident communicator.
• Calm and efficient under pressure.
• Ministry of Justice check and pre-employed drug test required.

Responsibilities

• ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality goods and services.
• responding to customers' inquiries and complaints about goods and services.
• planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties.
• interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances
• instructing staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales procedures.
• examining returned goods and deciding on appropriate action.
• taking inventory of goods for sale and ordering new stock
• ensuring that goods and services are correctly priced and displayed
• ensuring safety and security procedures are enforce
