Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Do you have a resilience and positive, can-do attitude? Are you driven to helping people live their best lives? If so, we welcome your application.

Community Living Limited is a leading provider of support for people living in the community with an intellectual disability. We work alongside people to design supports that meet their unique challenges, needs and the life they want to lead.

We currently have a variety of part time and casual positions available, in services throughout the Waikato and surrounds. We are looking for compassionate support workers to provide supervision, guidance, and everyday living support for people living with intellectual disabilities, helping them to live independently and participate in their local community.

To be successful in gaining a position in the team, you will need to be innovative and have the skills to become a role model and mentor for the people we support. No two days as a support worker are quite the same and at times, you may need to manage safety risks and challenging behaviours. So, a positive attitude and motivating people to keep moving forward on their journey is a key requirement for this role.

You must have a full New Zealand drivers’ licence and be a New Zealand citizen or resident.

Successful applicants will join a team that has a strong focus on providing positive outcomes for people. Previous experience in the health, mental health, or disability sector would be a clear advantage; however, comprehensive training is provided to candidates with the right values, character and skills.

What we're looking for:

A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to empowering them to live their best lives

Relevant experience in the disability support sector, or a strong desire to pursue a career in this field

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with individuals, their families, and the wider care team

A valid, full New Zealand driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle

A positive, patient, and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the unique needs and preferences of each individual

NZ Citizens or Residents with clear speech which can be easily understood by a person with a disability

Bitte note: we are unable to offer sponsorship or visa support, this position is available to Permanent Residents Only.

Hourly pay rates range from $24.32 to $29.68 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Meaningful mahi - Join a team focused on providing positive outcomes for people.

Train to achieve NZQA qualifications on the job

Discounts on Medical Insurance and Life Insurance through Southern Cross

Immunisation programmes - free influenza vaccine annually and Hepatitis B vaccine program

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support you for work or personal issues.

My Boost app - special offers and discounts on everyday items

We welcome enquiries ... and value diversity in the workplace.

Please note: Due to the specific health requirements of the individuals we support, we will need to ask whether you identify as male or female and you will need to provide your availability.
