Job summary

NZCL in Nelson is seeking an energetic Team Leader to support people with disabilities to live as independently as possible. You will lead a team, implement personal support plans, and ensure care is person-centred across morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.

The role emphasizes empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, with a focus on flexible rostering, including overnight shifts and weekends. A NZ Resident/Citizen or valid work permit is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification Level 3 in Health and Wellbeing.
• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding.
• Previous healthcare experience, including with disabilities and challenging behaviours, is preferred.
• Full driver’s license is essential.
• Ability to drive initiative, be energetic, and respect diverse ways of living.

• Lead and motivate a team to support people to live as independently as possible.
• Assist individuals to plan towards goals and keep them at the centre of care.
• Support with daily routines, meals, and personal cares in the home.
