Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a well-established retail client in filling a fully remote Payroll Administrator role. You will manage payroll processing, employee data, deductions, benefits, and year-end tasks, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of payroll experience, strong knowledge of payroll regulations (South Africa context) and tax laws, and proficiency with VIP, Sage Payroll, PaySpace and MS Excel. Discretion and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as Payroll Administrator or similar role.
• Knowledge of South African payroll regulations and tax laws.
• Proficiency with payroll software (VIP, Sage Payroll, PaySpace) and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll accurately and on time.
• Ensure compliance with payroll-related labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Manage employee data in the payroll system (new hires, terminations, changes).
• Calculate deductions, benefits, and garnishments.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and relevant departments.
• Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
• Administer employee benefits programs related to payroll.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
• Assist with year-end payroll processes, including IRP5 certificates.
