Job summary

Primary ITO is seeking an Agriculture Training Adviser based in Taranaki/Whanganui. You will support learners and employers across the agriculture sector, guiding learners from enrolment to programme completion with coaching and assessment.

You will build industry relationships, promote training opportunities, and contribute to workforce development. This permanent, full-time role (40 hours/week) is home-office-based with regional travel; a work vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience in agriculture or the wider primary industry sector.
• Experience in customer service, relationship management, or stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Commitment to supporting learner success and industry workforce development.

Responsibilities

• Support learners and employers throughout the training journey.
• Develop training plans and enrol learners into programmes.
• Conduct workplace visits and provide ongoing learner support and mentoring.
• Assess learner competency and provide constructive feedback on progress.
• Monitor learner achievement and encourage programme completion.
• Promote Primary ITO training opportunities within the agriculture sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers, industry groups, and stakeholders.
• Attend industry events, forums and networking opportunities.
• Maintain accurate learner and employer records within organisational systems.
• Support off-job training activities and learner engagement initiatives.
• Champion health, safety, wellbeing and cultural capability practices.
