Job summary

NZTA | Waka Kotahi is seeking a Manager Regulatory Planning, Performance & Improvement to oversee the Commercial Transport regulatory sub-system. You will translate strategy into integrated operational plans, monitor performance and provide evidence-based insights to prioritise actions.

You will lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement and build strong relationships with regulatory, government and industry stakeholders to deliver sustainable regulatory outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong regulatory background with extensive experience in operational regulation.
• Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights for decision-making.
• Experience leading regulatory improvement initiatives and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end oversight of Commercial Transport regulatory performance and outcomes.
• Translate strategy into integrated operational plans and priorities.
• Establish consistent performance, reporting, assurance and quality frameworks.
• Use data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Provide authoritative advice to senior leaders on regulatory interventions and trade-offs.
• Drive continuous improvement and embed learning into frameworks and tools.
• Sponsor development of guidance and processes for frontline delivery.
• Lead and develop a high-performing specialist team.
• Build relationships across regulatory, operational, government and industry stakeholders.
