Job summary

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is seeking a Manager for Performance, Planning and Improvement to lead the Commercial Transport regulatory sub-system. You will oversee regulatory planning, performance, assurance and continuous improvement, ensuring resources are aligned with risk-informed priorities and strategic direction.

You will drive data-informed decisions, translate regulatory strategy into operational plans, and lead a high-performing team across a complex regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• A strong regulatory background with frontline regulation experience.
• Proven leadership in building high-performing teams and capability.
• Extensive experience in strategic and operational planning, reporting and assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end oversight of Commercial Transport regulatory performance and outcomes.
• Translate strategic direction into integrated regulatory plans and priorities.
• Develop and implement consistent performance, reporting, assurance and quality frameworks.
• Provide authoritative advice to senior leaders on priorities and trade-offs.
