Job summary

The Doctors Whakatipu is recruiting a Registered Nurse to join our supportive general practice team. This permanent role covers 32-40 hours per week across Monday to Saturday, based in Queenstown/Wanaka. You will work with skilled colleagues to deliver high-quality nursing care, backed by leadership from our medical centre team.

Qualifications

• Current NZ practicing certificate required with nursing experience in a medical centre desirable.
• Competent in general practice nursing and primary/secondary care settings.
• Postgraduate qualifications or progress toward one are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in general practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support community health.
• Deliver patient assessments, immunisations and dressings as needed.

Nurses in General Practice enhance community health and equity, providing advanced care within multidisciplinary teams. This is a permanent position working 32-40 hours across Monday to Saturday.

Do you have what we are looking for?

• A current New Zealand practicing certificate with prior experience in a medical centre (desirable)
• Competent in areas of nursing in either or both primary and secondary care
• Your practice aligns with the principles of The Treaty of Waitangi.
• Postgraduate nursing qualifications (or if you are working towards one) and/or specialisation is highly desirable; such as travel or occupational health, prescribing or long-term conditions
• Willing to continually learnand improve
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to build strong rapport with team members.
• You will ideally hold current CPR certificate
• Immunisation and smear taker certificates is desirable but not essential
