Job summary

The Doctors Medical Centres in New Zealand is seeking a registered nurse to join our general practice team in Whangārei. This permanent 16-hour-per-week role spans two weekdays, with a supportive, growth-focused environment and an emphasis on community health.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, provide clinical care, triage, and telehealth support, and continue professional development within NZ's largest GP network. A remote/hybrid model can be discussed.

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand practising certificate with primary care experience (desirable).
• Competent in areas of nursing in primary and/or secondary care.
• Experienced primary health or emergency care nurse.
• Your practice aligns with the principles of The Treaty of Waitangi.
• Willing to continually learn and improve.
• Phone triage and telehealth experience beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to build strong rapport with team members.
• Ideally hold CPR certificate.
• Immunisation and smear taker certificates desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a general practice setting.
• Assist with triage and patient assessment.
• Deliver immunisations and smear tests where appropriate.
• Participate in telehealth and remote patient support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to improve community health.
• Ensure patient safety and documentation in the EHR.

This is a permanent position working 16 hours per week across 2 days from Monday - Friday
