Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality aged care and support residents’ wellbeing through resident-directed care. The role focuses on clinical care, care planning, and collaborative decision-making with families to enhance quality of life.

The ideal candidate holds NZ Nursing Registration with Practicing Certificate, has dementia care experience (Level 4), and demonstrates calm leadership, resilience, and strong communication

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate required.
• Experience in dementia care with Level 4 dementia care qualification.
• Strong communication and leadership under pressure; resident-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage residents’ daily needs from clinical to end-of-life care.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at our Cambridge village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical Duties Include

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This is a permanent role working a roster of Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm.

You’ll Bring With You

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• Experience working within dementia care, supported by a Level 4 dementia care qualification
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
