Job summary

Registered Nurse position at Summerset in the Vines village, Hawke's Bay. You will join a team delivering high-quality aged care, with a resident-directed approach to improve quality of life for residents in care.

The role is fixed-term from November to March 2027, working 64–80 hours per fortnight across a 4 days on, 2 days off roster, with a mix of AM and PM shifts. NZ Registration and Practising Certificate required, and leadership and compassionate care are valued.

Qualifications

• As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be NZ registered with a current Practising Certificate.
• You should have a genuine interest in working with older people and retirement village care.
• You will be able to lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• You will communicate clearly and build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care.
• Create and follow long term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre on shifts and make clinical decisions.

As a Registered Nurse at our Summerset in the Vines village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical Duties Include

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families
