Job summary

Summerset - Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Cambridge village. You will join a team delivering quality aged care in a resident-directed setting, focused on enhancing residents' quality of life.

In this part-time role, you’ll manage clinical to end-of-life care, develop long-term care plans, lead shifts, and support caregivers. NZ Registration and a current Practising Certificate are required, with 4pm–8pm shifts across a four-on, two-off roster.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and a current Practising Certificate are required.
• Interest in caring for older people and understanding retirement village services.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Good communication and rapport-building with residents, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse at our Cambridge village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This is a permanent part-time role working a roster of, four days on, two days off and shift times will be 4.00pm to 8.00pm.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
