Job summary

Summerset Palms in Hawke's Bay is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in providing quality aged care. You will lead care delivery, manage both clinical and daily needs, and partner with residents and families to enhance quality of life.

Applicants must hold NZ Registration and a current Practising Certificate, with a passion for elder care and strong communication. Expect a roster of 4 days on, 2 days off, with AM/PM shifts and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and a current Practising Certificate required.
• Demonstrated ability to care for older people in residential settings.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing needs.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at our Summerset Palms village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This role works 60 - 80 hours per fortnight on a 4days on, 2days off roster, with a mix of AM and PM shifts.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
