Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages is seeking a Registered Nurse for Trentham Village to contribute to quality aged care and enhance residents’ quality of life. You will work with a dedicated team to deliver resident-directed care, creating meaningful daily experiences and support for families.

Role involves managing residents’ needs from clinical to end-of-life care, developing care plans, and occasionally leading the care centre during shifts. Sunday to Wednesday 5pm-9pm, part-time position.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Registration and Practising Certificate required.
• Experience in aged care or retirement village setting preferred.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Excellent communication with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and daily care to residents.
• Develop and follow long-term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre on shifts and make clinical decisions.
• Deliver planned nursing care and assess progress with residents and families.
• Guide and support carers on shift and build trusting relationships.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at our Trentham village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical Duties Include

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

Sunday - Wednesday 5pm - 9pm (Part-Time)

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

You’ll Bring With You

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
