Job summary

Summerset Holdings is seeking a Registered Nurse for Summerset Palms village to deliver high-quality aged care and enhance residents' quality of life. You will work with a dedicated team in a resident-directed care setting, focusing on comprehensive clinical support and meaningful daily activities.

The role involves leading shifts, developing care plans, and partnering with families to support residents’ wellbeing. NZ registration and ongoing professional development are essential.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and a current Practising Certificate are required.
• Genuine interest in working with older people and understanding clinical services in a retirement village.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Job Description:

As a Registered Nurse at our Summerset Palmsvillage, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This role works 60 - 80 hours per fortnight on a 4days on, 2days off roster, with a mix of AM and PM shifts.

Qualifications:

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.
