Job summary

Excel Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Dunedin) is expanding, seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to service commercial, industrial and transport refrigeration systems in Dunedin. The role offers growth, a quality company vehicle and benefits as part of a growing team.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations, while delivering high-quality service and maintaining safety standards across diverse environments.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 4 qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is required.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in refrigeration systems.
• Excellent communication and client service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining commercial, industrial and transport refrigeration systems.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
• Planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
• Refrigeration repairs, upgrades and installations.
• Fault-finding and practical problem-solving.
• Completing service documentation and work orders using modern technology.
• Building strong relationships with customers and providing professional service.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety.
• Supporting apprentices and other team members when required.
• Participating in on-call and overtime work as required.

Build your career with Excel Refrigeration & Air Conditioning as we establish our presence in Dunedin. We’re looking for an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team and play an important role in building our Dunedin operation.

You’ll work across a diverse range of commercial and industrial refrigeration environments, with a varied workload spanning preventative maintenance, servicing, fault-finding, repairs and installations. As the team grows, there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your skills, take on responsibility and grow with the business.

The Role

Working as part of our Dunedin team, you’ll be responsible for delivering reliable, high-quality refrigeration services to our customers.

Your Day-to-day Work Will Include

• Servicing and maintaining commercial, industrial and transport refrigeration systems
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs

Ideally, You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration
• Strong refrigeration fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• NZQA Level 4 qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• Current Electrical Service Technician (EST) Practising Licence
• Approved Refrigerant Handling (Filler’s) Ticket
• Full New Zealand driver licence
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• The ability to work confidently on your own while contributing to a wider team
• A solutions-focused approach to your work
