Job summary

Watertight Metal Ltd in Queenstown, South Island, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator focused on metal roofing. You will work with the Operations Manager, onsite teams and clients to ensure projects are accurately priced and delivered professionally.

The role requires 3+ years in metal roofing QS/estimating, strong pricing ability, and excellent communication. The company values quality workmanship and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in QS/estimating metal roofing focused roles.
• Strong understanding of metal roofing and cladding systems.
• High accuracy, strong numerical confidence and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with industry-relevant pricing systems.
• Professional and proactive with problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete accurate take offs and pricing for metal roofing and cladding projects.
• Prepare and send detailed quotes with TAGS and job specifics.
• Manage project documentation and job setup in internal systems.
• Follow up on quotes and support business development efforts; provide technical client support.
• Oversee invoicing, progress claims and job cost tracking.
• Identify cost variances and raise issues early; contribute to safety culture.

Quantity Surveyor/Estimator - Metal Roofing

Watertight Metal Ltd – Queenstown, South Island

An experienced Metal Roofing Quantity Surveyor / Estimator position based in the Southern Lakes region, working closely with the Operations Manager, onsite teams and clients to ensure projects are accurately priced and professionally delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Completing accurate take offs and pricing for metal roofing and cladding projects
• Preparing and sending detailed quotes, including TAGS and job specific information
• Managing project documentation and job setup in internal systems
• Following up on quotes and supporting business development effortsProviding technical support and clear communication to clients and staff
• Overseeing invoicing, progress claims and job cost tracking
• Identifying cost variances and raising issues early
• Contributing to a safe, proactive health & safety culture

About you

• 3+ years' experience in a QS/estimating metal roofing focused role
• Strong understanding of metal roofing and cladding systems
