Job summary

Recruit Plus Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Auckland to lead cost control and commercial management for residential projects. You will prepare budgets, forecasts and cost analyses, manage contracts and variations, and monitor cash flow with project teams and subcontractors.

Applicants should have a relevant degree, 2+ years’ NZ residential experience, and strong data analysis and bilingual English/Chinese communication skills. On-site role with training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in residential construction.
• Knowledge of NZ residential construction process and commercial management.
• Familiar with contract management, progress claims, variations and cost control.
• On-site construction experience welcomed; QS training provided.
• Strong data analysis and commercial thinking.
• Fluent in Chinese and English; excellent communication.

Job description

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for the full process of cost control and commercial management of the project, including preparation and review of project budget, cost forecasting and cost analysis report, contract management, engineering changes and payment applications, and tracking project costs, analyzing deviations and proposing optimization suggestions.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the full process of cost control and commercial management of the project

• Work closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors to ensure project cost targets are achieved

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related discipline
• At least two years of experience in the residential construction industry
• Familiar with the residential construction process and commercial management process in New Zealand
• Familiar with contract management, Progress Claims, Variations and cost control
• Welcome applicants with Project Manager, Site Manager or on-site construction experience, the company provides complete QS training
• Good data analysis skills and commercial thinking
• Fluent in Chinese and English, with excellent communication skills
• Proactive, responsible, and able to handle project business affairs independently
